Outlook 2003- Saving emails

I scoured the online help through Microsoft and found nothing helpful so here I am. I need to save a specific folder of emails on outlook 2003 at work. What I've done already is create a .pst file of the folder. Is this the correct way to save emails? I need to be sure that we don't lose this file if that computer goes down for the count.
