Default OS questions (using same discs on 2 comps)

I am building a new computer soon and have a question about operating system discs. If my friend has the discs for the Vista operating system will I be able to use his discs to put in on my new build? I would think that the discs would have some type of code that would only allow them to be on one computer at a time, or in only one house at a time but I dont know for sure. If I could use his discs that would be great because I could put that money into a better machine.

That is illegal. You need one liscense per os on a machine.

No you can not use yoru friends disk. 1 OS per machine. It has been this way since forever. You can not share the same serial as your friend. Topic closed as this is against our rules as well.
