Question Which OS Best 4 Games?

I just bought a new PC and I do not know which MS OS to install. The primary use of my PC is for games. Which OS should I use? (XP Pro, XP Media Center, or XP x64)

Either version of XP is fine.

personally i would use windows 2000 pro, if you have it or can get it

windows 2000 takes little to no memory at all (at your amount of RAM, you would have probably 1.8 GB of RAM free) and windows 2000 is still supported for a few more years...

windows xp may look pretty, and its newer, but you pay the price in RAM....

Best Gaming OS :

1. Windows 2000 professional.
2. Windows Xp Professional SP1 in Classic Mode.

sp2 is slower and hogs more memory b/c of certain security features. You can test it by looking at your CPU usage while under load...

Windows XP SP2. Vista will surpass it in gaming as that is the direction MS seems to be heading in but that product will not be completed till 2007.
