Default openoffice.org

Well, I installed openoffice and for some reason, It won't open my .xls (excel) spreadsheet with all my burned cd's on it. I can open other microsoft spreadsheets, but not this specific one. It's not corrupted at all, as it opened fine before I formatted.... openoffice tries to open it as a word document although the file extention is .xls; just like the other spreadsheets that will open fine.

turns out the spreadsheet is corrupt. so i guess my thread is changed to "how do i fix a corrupt spreadsheet". I've tried a few methods..and i think the thing is completly done. I have no idea how it would have been corrupted... I burned it to CD, formatted, and simply copied it back on.

A bad burn can damage a file.

i understand that; however, no other files on that CD were harmed. My last resort is going to be to [try to] open it in Linux, and if not then redo everything into a database, which I planned on doing (someday) anyway.

I will post the spreadsheet for anyone to try to fix (if they want) in the near future.
