Hello everyone, I'm the n00b 
Let's get down to business, I have a VT82C686A onboard sound card that doesn't seem to work no matter what I do, I tried installing different versions of drivers and playing around with the BIOS but, alas, nothing seems to work.
The weird thing is I install everything correctly and without problems (with Add New Hardware) but there is no sound, whatsoever... Sndvol32.exe doesn't work, meaning as there is no sound hardware or something... When I try to play a sound with the control panel / sounds I cant play any wave file because the little play triangle is grayed out...
And if I try to install the AVI drivers with the installation exe it tells me the AC97 Codec isnt enabled in the Bios, even though it is...
Could it be possible that the sound card died on me?
