office2003installwindow when acrobat opens

i attempted to install office 2003 at some point but couldn't because i don't have my xp machine updated to sp1 (no internet on this machine). so, i reinstalled office xp. now, whenever i start up adobe acrobat (only happens with acrobat) i get an office2003installer window which i have to cancel a bunch of times while acrobat loads up.
any clues?

What are you trying to open when this happens?
Or are you just trying to open Acrobat generaly?

i am usually just opening acrobat generally. happens with acrobat reader as well as the main acrobat program.
