Ok what I'm kinda looking for is a way to monitor a drive to see what files are accessed....
Now for the long story
OK system is as follows
amd 3000+
gigabyte GA-k8nf-9
512 mb ram
HD configuration
Pata
C: win 2k
D: win2k swap file
E: storage
Sata
G: win xp
H: win xp swap file
I : games/storage/downloads
Now the problem is when I try to start anything that has sound(win amp, games, ect.) it locks up for about a minite, maybe 90 seconds. Then the pata drive spins up, accesses about 1k of info, then finishes loading from the sata drive. I can shorten the time by just forcing the pata drive to spin up. I don't understand what it could be accessing. Please no one say "just select never in power menu so the drives always spining"
Edit: forgot to mention that sometimes games doen't load the sound if the pata drive isn't spinning.
