Default not a valid win32 application??????

my star wars battlefront 2 game has been working fine until earlier. I was getting an error in the game. SO i uninstalled and tried reinstalling, but when i mount the image nothing happens. So i double click the launchbf2.exe and i get this error. Well my whole system needed to be reloaded anyway, other problems, so i just reloaded a fresh windows. I still get that message on both the mounted image and the burnt DVD. Why does this happen and how do i fix it.

I did not install and uninstall anything new before this happened.
