Nortons Ghost 10 Live Update problems

I am running Nortons Ghost 10 as my backup onto a Seagate Barracuda 160GB HD.

All is fine except for my attempt to have Live Update Express version 3.2.0.52 install 2929.3KB downloads recently offered. All is downloaded successfully, but I get two error messages within Live Update as follows:

Fatal error installation failed.

LU 1812 - Part update not applied, update failed.
LU 1806 - Error, all failed to install.

In Event Viewer there are the following two errors also:

Product: Norton Ghost 10 MisInstaller error, LinkID 23127 (error code 1603) Nortons Ghost Update error.

Product: Norton Ghost 10 ..Internal Error 2251.... Registry.
Source msiInstaller.

In researching the above errors and ID links I cannot resolve this due to lack of knowledge. There is however no reference on the relevant Microsoft sites mentioning specifically Nortons Ghost 10.

Could one of the experts help me out here if possible please?

I have solved my Live Update problem with best practise advice.

"Bottom line I still don't know exactly what is wrong. The only way to really clean it up (if you want to do this):

0. First take a good independent backup image with Ghost 10 and verify it.
1. Uninstall Ghost 10
2. Run Norton Removal Tool
3. Run Windows Installer Cleanup tool and cleaup any leftover Symantec, Norton entries.
4. Use Windows Explorer and Windows search function to manually look for folders that have Symantec, Norton, etc in them and delete them.
5. Reinstall Ghost 10
6. Run Live Update to update Ghost to 10.03"

It was all so easy when I knew how to do it.
