Anyone know where Norton stores the virus definitions files?

I'm using Symantec Antivirus 10.0, for some reason, when I updated it to the new definitions which is 4/29, it would revert back to 4/12 definition files, and a message would display saying my definitions could not be found and my system was not fully updated. Since I couldn't find where they are stored, I downloaded the new definitions and installed them in C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus and so far, so good. But do you know where they are stored?

Download the updater file from Symantec, which is 29th April at the moment

http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/dow...es/US-N95.html

Downlaod to computer, run it.

Then open NAV and see if the update shows 29th April

I've assumed you tried updating using NAV LiveUpdate, of course

yes man. All of your virus definitions downloaded via live update will be stored into c:\program files\common files\symantec shared\virusdefs\

your most recent update will be shown as a folder with the date as its name.
