Norton, macafee or who?

since fiddling around with what may or may not be a problem I've been picking up a lot of negative remarks re Norton. What is the choice of Internet Security for the members on these forums?

Not because it's following the crowd, but from years of personal experience I would recommend AVG, simply because the free version is simply impressive compared to all others I have used.

There's an idea...maybe that would be a nice project to work on: generating a sticky that outlines many of today's most popular firewalls and their pros and cons. I may look into that if I can't find anything relating to such on the forums already.

It is in the Virus area. That is a Security thing. There is also a bunch of them listed in our Free Software thread in the Sticky area. Which no one bothers to even read first.

I use Avast. I find it better for what i want compared to AVG.

Stay away from Norton, thats for sure. I have McAfee (because I get it for free via the dept of defense) and I like it. AVG is a great product also for a free package.
