To back up the registry:
Exit all open programs.
Click Start, and then click Run. The Run dialog box appears.
Type regedit and then click OK. The Registry Editor window appears.
Click the Registry menu, and then click Export Registry File. The Export Registry file dialog box appears.
Verify the following items in the Export Registry File dialog box:
Save in: My Documents
File name: Oldreg
Save as type: Registration Files (*.reg)
Export range: All
Click Save. The registry is saved to the My Documents folder.
If you later need to restore the registry to its "pre-uninstall" state, then simply double-click the Oldreg.reg icon in the My Documents folder.
To remove the GoBack registry keys:
Delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\GBMenu.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\GBRevert.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\GoBack.exe
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\ShellExecuteHooks
Delete the following value in the right pane:
{6809e580-a3a7-11d1-9a00-00a0c945b006}
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
Delete the following value in the right pane:
GoBack Polling Service
Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GoBack
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Help
Delete the following values in the right pane:
GoBack.cnt
GoBack.hlp
Delete the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Roxio\GoBack
Navigate to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec\InstalledApps
Delete the following value in the right pane:
Roxio GoBack
Delete the following registry keys:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Roxio\GoBack
HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Roxio\GoBack
Remove the GoBack program folder
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Roxio\GoBack
Right-click the GoBack folder, and then click Delete.
Navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks
Right-click the GBPlugin.dll file, and then click Delete.
