Norton Ghost File Retrieval Issue

I made a backup on one of my computers awhile ago using Norton Ghost onto an external HDD. However I'm not clear on how to access my files that i backed up, i think i made an image of the HDD at the time. there are many folders containing .fbf files as well as several "Symantec Image Files". When i double click one of the image files i get this error:

Error ED800018: The image file 'H:/Ghost/******_C_Drive001_s09.v2i' was not found.

I'm not sure what else to try. could anyone help me out with this?

Did you create the bootable CD that is needed to start loading up the image from the hard drive?
