Hi, my computer has been running for almost a year and 4 months now since I put it together. It never had problems booting up, but just yesterday... all of a sudden I turn it on just as I have been turning it on for the past year........ and it poped up an error message saying something about "CMOS bad, press F1 for setup F2 to continue". It didn't continue to boot up.
At first I tried to reset CMOS on the mainboard but didn't help, then I just pressed F2 and it did continue into windows. Luckily, everything is ok for now.
But my question is what steps should I take to prevent this from happening again? What could cause such a random problem to arise from out of the blue? Is there a problem? I have a MSI kt880 board and Win XP.
Any comments, suggestions advice will be appreciated thanks.
