A customer has purchased a new PC with XP to replace his old 98 system. The disk from the 98 PC has all the Network settings, network printers, shared devices etc. Is there an easy way to transfer all those kind of files, or is it easier to note the settings and re-enter them manually. Likewise with "Office" files etc.

Thanks for your help

With a jump from 98 to XP youll have to redo all the networking stuff, but XP makes it rather easy.

And by office files... you mean the program itself or files saved or what?

Another thing you might consider is offering the customer the option of a dual boot computer and tossing that old HDD in there.
