Ok so I am trying to keep all the data on the hardrive and the computer store just installed a new motherboard in it under warranty. I go to boot it up with the windows cd in, and when I try to select "enter" or "r" for repair, it tells me that there is no drive connected etc. and that I cannot continue.
What can I do? If i lose all my data I will definately cry.

It dosnt sound to hopefull. You'll need to re boot and see if it shows your hard drive.in the BIOS.If not I would call the shop and see what they have done.even if they lost all or your data they should have at least got the hard drive set up for an install. If you told them you wanted the dats saved they should have made a backup. So much shody work out there now days.

Ya when the bios starts up, the screens show me having my maxtor sata 120gb installed. and then under that it says sata drive...(none) or something to that degree.

You need to install the SATA drivers that came with the motherboard first. Windows will not recognize a SATA HD with out them.
