im running sp2 on xp pro all updates avail have been d/l also yes the unix server that hosts the smb share allows multiple logins it is xp pro that is throwing the error listed above at the time of the error listed above there were no mapped drives visualy located in my computer also if i did a net use there were not any entries listed for any mapped drive at all. its got me stumped.

try uninstalling the NIC driver and reboot. PNP should install it again. hopefully this will clear any previous mapped drives.

is the drive being mapped via logon script?
