.NET Framework 3.5SP1 Won't install

I am trying to install Visual Basic 2008 Express from Microsoft, it goes through it all but it allways fails when installing .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, i downloaded and installed 3.5 manually, but then i realized it was SP1, so i try then. And it fails, it just gets an error when trying to install. No idea why.

I can install anything else, just this which is the problem (and anything requiring 3.5 sp1)

Im on windows XP SP2. Oh man.. this is really screwing me off now.. work already !

Do you even have .NET 3.5 installed? Cant install SP1 if you dont even have the original installed.

Yes, i checked add or remove programs.

That look alright ?

There is no error code in particular, if i try to install VB 2008 Express straight off the bat it tells me "Error report, there was an error installing the following items, .NET 3.5 SP1" if i try installing .NET 3.5sp1 itself i just get "there was an error during the installation".
