Default PLEASE!!, any help i can get

i had to restore my computer yesteday cuz it wasnt working right, like it wasnt starting up right. I have done this before with past computer and picked the restore option that saves all data files, only restores computer settings.

However, after restoring i found that it deleted all my data files, it was like a "destructive restore" even tho I know i dit NOT pick that option. This wasnt that big of a deal until i realized that my college entrace essay was also gone. I had worked hard on it for a month and it is due in 2 weeks. I dont have time to rush thru and do a sloppy job on it, so is there anyway to recover this file after a computer is restored??? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Alright. Go to the directory c:\documents and settings\ ...

What folders exist there?

Check to see whether any of the immediate folders in that directory is your previous accounts folder.

...I'm assuming the file was stored in My Documents.
