Default Need Help

ok my internet on this computer was working fine then i plugged another comp into a hub which made me unhook the internet on the main comp. Then all of a sudden the internet on my main comp didnt work.I need to renew my ip addres i have tried doing this several times through dos and it always says an error occured while renewing interface local area connection: unable to contact your DHCP server. Request timed out. Im sure my comnpo is hooked up correctly. And When i go to control pannel/network connections the tocal area connection is connected and it has an average of 331 sent and 20,205 received this doesnt make much scence to me. Please help ty for ANY help
