n00b question about outlook 07

When I delete things in outlook it puts a line through the message... but still appears in my inbox and whatnot... where do i go to set the options to have it delete the message like any other normal email client?

How do you delete it? With a right click Delete or with the delete button up top? I know by default when i delete a message it sends it to the trash.

I think its because that account uses IMAP... does anybody who uses an IMAP account get lines through the message when you select it to be deleted? If so... do you know of a way to force the message to be removed from the inbox via no line through message?
