one of my friends sent me an offline message saying that no folder can be created by the name "con",i have tried creating the folder but i couldn't does any one here know what this is?


try creating the folder with name con and see for u r self.

I dont remember all the one but there are a few 3 letter words that cant be created as folders. Con is 1 and there is like 2 or 3 more.

you cannot create these folder names in Windows:
CON
PRN
AUX
CLOCK$
NUL

COM1 to COM9

LPT1 to LPT9

*edit*
the CLOCK$ directory is only un-makable in OS's below Windows 2000
