My Windows XP Prefetch is gone!

For some reason, my Windows' Prefetch does not appear anymore. I mean, the folder still exists, but there use to be lots of programs in my Windows XP Windows\Prefetch folder that popped up, and after deleting them, the speed of my overall computer drammatically improved. But now, I find that there is nothing anymore in the Prefetch. It's been like 3 months since I've deleted Prefetch, and it seems that all the files/programs that usually appear don't appear anymore. Could I have edited something in the registry or changed some files that prevented this? The Prefetch isn't hiding any hidden files either. I right click and it says 0 bytes. I want to have the files back in Prefetch, so I can re-delete them!

Fixed the prefetch problem. It appears that I disabled task scheduler a few weeks (I now remember) and this conflicts with it.

that was good to know... but are you sure that the task scheduler conflicts with prefetch contents..
