My microphone boost is constantly 20% boost and I want WIndows to stop changing it.

Basically whenever it feels like it windows changes my microphone to 20% boost when I don't want it to. I use skype and I have unchecked 'automatically adjust microphone settings'.
Any help? I don't want to this boost due to it echoing when its on.

Well Windows doesn't do anything unless there is user interaction. So either another program you use is making the changes or the settings you set are not being saved.
