My desktop goes black..

So when I boot up my computer, it is fine. Then once I hover over an icon or folder, the area around it goes black. Also, if I open up a page, or highlight anywhere, wherever is touched, it goes black. I've tried to switch my image, but that doesn't work. Any suggestions?

Reboot the machine, wait for it to load starttup.
Next press control, alt, del, button and start task manager.
Next start a new task, type in eventvwr and hit enter.
If it loads up please look at window logs, click on system.
Tell us what windows has been giving you on errors and warnings between 4-24 - 4-26.

Once we know what is going on we'll go from there.
