Default music editting software

does anyone know of any good programs that allow in depth music editting such as mixing tracks?

nero suite has a program called "wave editor" that lets you edit music in a song.

Yeah, but that doesn't have multi-track recording/mixing. I think what he is looking for is something like Sony Acid or GarageBand. I love Acid, so shoot for that. I'm not reccommending it but [comment deleted]

Yes, I think Audacity supports multiple tracks.
And it's free.
