MSN on Webcam ?

hi , i was talkin to my mate on MSN Messenger and he said watch this clip i said how ? then he said watch it thru webcam... so i did i asked him how he got it so clear on the webcam and he told me he used it with Windows Media player.. but he didnt put it near the screen ? and he said he modded it in Regedit to use the webcam as a video player in MSN that uses Windows Media player... anyone know how i could do this ?
