Hey,

I got my new laptop a couple weeks ago with vista home premium 64-bit. I followed some performance guides and disabled things here and there and uninstalled a bunch of HP's unnecessary software they load onto the system. My computer is nice and clean now and runs smoothly, except that my msconfig start up is bloated with a bunch of unselected start up programs.

I have always used msconfig CleanUP on my desktops which both still run XP with no problems. Im trying to use it on vista now but when I start msconfig CleanUP there is nothing to select even though there are 10 entries in msconfig unselected.

Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times with no success. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
darkop

Try doing it manually by using the msconfig command in the run window.
Or you can try CCleaner and manipulate your start-up processes that way.

If both of those don't work then you have an issue.
