Default ms-dos format

how can i make an msdos formatted floppy in xp without actually having to do it in dos, is there a nice easy program out there that can do it, have searched but found nothing useful

but does that format it like it would in msdos? i was tryin to install slackware 3.5, it told me to copy files to a msdos formatted floppy, but it didn't find the files (

Any floppy you format in XP will be MS DOS formatted. That hasn't changed in pretty much forever. I thought you were asking about how you get an MS-DOS boot floppy in XP. That's also on that attached picture. Just check the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" if you need a floppy that boots in MS-DOS. Otherwise, just about any floppy you buy comes formatted in DOS format.

oh right, thanks, damn slackware 3.5 installation told me otherwise, floppy install is such a loooonngggg process
