I know that many people do not like WMA, but I was wondering why that is. I don't notice any sound difference when comparing the two, and in Windows Media Player, WMA actually seems to sound better than MP3. Many MP3 players are now supporting WMA, so why pey extra money for an MP3 encoder when you can encode to WMA fast and free with WMP 9?

I dont know, they both sound fine to me and the WMA's take up half as much room as the older MP3's. If you are using MP3 Pro thats a different story, thier sizes are about the saem. I think it boils down to a compatibility issue. MP3 is the standard that all media players recognize.
