have you tried any other movies? I was going to ask this before, but it now seems to me that it's just the movie. might it be a broken movie? also, would installing the new codec packs fix or replace an existing codec that was broken, or merely just see that other codec and leave it alone? if so, it could be that one of your codecs is broken, and can't be fixed. try finding all your codec packs, start from fresh, then re-download them. seriously sounds like the movie itself is broken.

It's with all movies as far as I can figure. :-\
I've watched movies on my computer, so it's not the monitor.

Are any of the movies HD (High Definition)? OR just regular DVD's? HAve you installed like PowerDVD and tried that?

The movies are Avi, Vob, MP4.
I have ~250 movies, ~90% are Avi.

Whats your anti virus, maybe its trying to scan the movie files as you play it, not sure if this would effect it but worth a try. =/
