Movie Screenshot utility?

I need a way to get screenshots automatically from a movie file. I could press Print+Screen manually over and over but is there an automated way that a software will rip the movie file into many jpg files preferably at least 1 frame per second?

The only way i have seen to do this is to pause the movie and hit prtscn. Most software i know of wont do this.

I use VirtualDub. It's a free linear video capture/processing utility with a range of features.

In the program, you can dump each frame of a video file to an image file by going to File > Export > Image Sequence... You can choose one of four image formats: BMP, TGA, JPG (with optional compression) and PNG. VirtualDub will number the frames in ascending order in keeping with the sequence.

Note that depending on the number of frames in the video, you may end up with thousands of image files, and the process may take a while.
