Mouse wont work

im having problems using my mouse on some programs. I know its not the driver because the programs dont work with any of my mice. A few problems are, I cant drag icons, on some programs i cant click or use angthing related to the mouse. Im using a Compaq Laptop with windows xp pro.

have you tried optical mice?

ive tried the touch pad, optical mice, and roller mice. what do you mean by internal mouse?
