Monitoring internet traffic on windows 7

Hi all,
I'm using windows 7 for my laptop, even when sent or dont send, request or dont request any thing from the Internet, my network card still hard working. The "Byte" of sent and receive in Network card status reach the high number out of my control. I think there are some programs are trying to request or sent to the Internet form my laptop. So, can anyone suggest for me a tool to monitoring the traffic. I look like the program show that which running programs are trying to send something or receive something and their using ports.
