Modem Hanging: Is this a s/w problem?
Last Dec. I bought a DELL. The configuration is
Dell Dimension (DIME521)
AMD Athlon 64X2
Core Processor 4200+
2.2 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM
Running w/MS XP Professional, sp2
Since I bought it the modem has always run for a while and then is not able to log onto any url. I get one of those standard Page Not Available popups.
The people at Dell have replaced the modem once but the problem continues and all they give me is the run around for 9 months.
My local tech man says that nothing can be done.
I ran MS XP Professional, sp2 with IE6 and Norton AVP
on my previous PC but I can not understand why this will not work.
Could you possibly help?
