I am trying to install XP on my buddys older computer. The HDD is missing jumpers but I dont think that should be a problem. I am gettin the messege on startup "MTLDR is missing, Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot"

Now, I think it is possibly bad connections or a bad XP Disk... What is your opinions ?

This was the solution for one person:
Colin and everyone else, thanks for all the advice. The problem is solved.
For some reason the default settings in the BIOS had changed and the computer
wasn't looking for a boot from the CD-DVD. Having set the CD-DVD player as
first boot source everything went smoothly. Glad you told me to boot from the
CD. The guy who sold me the hard drive told me to boot from floppy if I had
any problem with the CD. Anyway, thanks a lot. Everything is A-OK.
