To turn off AVG
Start>Run>msconfig>Startup
Remove all AVG references.
Under Services do the same. This will prevent AVG from starting up when you boot each time.
As for the clock what Region are you set to? English UK or English USA? If it is English UK that would be why. Try changing it to English USA.
