minor loading problems..

hello

i run windows xp pro, and my system specs are in my sig.

i have a problem when my computer turns on... windows xp loads, then the background picture appears.. then a looong pause before the icons/start menu appear.. this long pause is relatively new... why would it do that? this is pretty much before anything loads..


and also, when i turn on my comp, a box appears where i have to enter my password.. i don't have a pass so i just push ok right away.. how do i get rid of that box? i don't want it to pop up anymore.. when i start up my comp i want it to load everything up w/o me having to come back and press ok. there is only 1 account.. and thats mine..

Is password prompt for a network drive reconnection? Or for you local account logon?


The long pause while loading your local profile can be attributed to many many things.. ex : Tons of Favorites/Network Drives/Processes loading ... etc


When did this start happening? Did you install or uninstall anything new before this started happening?

Have you recreated your local profile?

somtimes i get a pause before my icons come on screen but even with a pause the start up time is good so i havent bothered to worry about it

the password prompt is for the local account logon. there is no password.. all i gotta do is press ok. but its still annoying...

recreated my local profile? nope...

i don't recall installing anything new... maybe i should just start uninstalling stuff... hehe..

actually.. maybe its better i do it after a fresh restart?

edit: ok i changed it..


anyways.. so that whole logon thing that i did.. whenever my comp starts it goes into a different account named "administrator" .. and i thought i was the only admin.. and it won't let me delete that other one.. how can i make it so that my profile loads and not the admin one? (i'm admin as well..)
