When ever I try to use the search option to find a file it starts to run then close al open windows (explore and all). Also when I go to MyComputer > CD drive>right-click > explore it does the same thing.

I have ran SpyBot, Adaware, Norton 2003. I have also done all the updates at Microsoft.

This started out as a computer a friend brought over that would do nothing. It would come up to the desktop and load about 10 popups and freeze. She has been using Kazaa to download stuff with.

Here is a copy of my HiJack log

sounds like it could be a trojan of some sort causing the problem but could just as well be due to faulty memory, or some other hardware or driver installation. if your antivirus scanner didn't find anything, its probably not been infected, taking that your norton has been kept up to date.
if you haven't made any hardware changes of any kind you could try using the repair console on the xp disc. the repair program doesn't affect any of your settings or programs installed and it will repair or replace any files that may have been accidently deleted.
but i i were you i would back up any important data and do a fresh install.
