Default Microsoft Office Printer

Hi, when I installed Microsoft Office 2003 another printer showed up in my printers and faxes place. It is called Microsoft Office Document Image Writer. Does anyone else have this, because I definetly only have one printer yet it shows two. What is this extra printer? Can I just delete it? Thanks.

its like the Adobe PDF printer.

You can print files to it, and then it converts them into DOC format.

But I only have one printer, so how would that print out of no printer. I am confused.

the office printer "Prints", or "writes" information to a file, instead of a paper.

Yep its a virtual printer not a physical printer. When you print to it, it usually asks where you want to save the file to.
