Hey Everyone,

I have installed Microsoft Office 2007 on a laptop that I want to retire. Is it possible to deactivate it from the laptop and install it on a new computer and have it still be legal?

Technically just a format of the hard drive is all that is required. But sadly Office only allows for a certain amount of activations no matter if it has been "deactivated" on a machine previously.

If it's Retail Home Student, then you have 3 non commerical license.
If it's a retail version, then it can be moved from one PC to another. However it need to be uninstalled from the previous PC.
If it's OEM, then you are not suppose to move it from one PC to another.
