Is there any way to revert to the previous update? Windows Live Messenger 8 Final acts worse then the Messenger 8 BETA. No joke.... program hanging when someone sends a message.

A few people (mainly USA folk i have noticed) have posted a few problems over the last 24hours with MSN but i'm using version 8.5.1302.1018 (UK user) and it's been fine all day!

This has got to be a problem on their end. As Bugg is right. There have been several threads already of MSN issues.

In reality the Final works better than the beta. It has always worked for me way better than the Beta as the Beta crashed constantly. Find a download for Build 8.1 and use that. At least till Microsoft does something about the issues the US is having with the service.
