Default Memory Reference Errors w/XP Pro

I'm getting error messages like the following:

mmc.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x10024d7" referenced memoory at "0x008ac254". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate program.

It happens in other exe's also ... helpctr.exe, navw32.exe, etc.

I'm running XP Pro, Norton System Works 2002, Office 2000 Pro. All the latest updates have been applied. I can't tell if this is software problem, motherboard problem or whatever.
The MB is a SOYO Dragon Plus, 512 MB DDR PC2100.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

I had that come up quite a few times on my last install of XP. Not sure what it was, but since a reformat and install it hasn't done it since.

Probably not your RAM; no need to worry. It's more likely a software issue trying to interface with the RAM.

Ouch! ... it doesn't look like there's any easy fix to this.

I'm having the exact same problem. Get same error message whenever I go into and then out of the Help files. Any luck in finding a solution?
