Media player 10 enhancment for brightness wotn work

I keep tyring to put the brightness up but the slider wont allow me. What must I do to get it to work?

what is the extension of media file that you are trying to do this on? Because if i tried to change brightness on some of my DiVx movies it did not work.

Its on every file it wont let me adjust the slider.
