I am looking for some help... my cousin has just installed McAfee Internet Security Suite 7.0 into his pc which is running Win98SE. As soon as it is installed all of his programs, in fact his entire machine locks up. If he tries to access anything he gets a message saying 'Access denied'. We have tried to reboot but the problem won't go away. The only option left is to reinstall Win 98SE from the boot disk and then manually uninstall all of the McAfee programs one by one. This we have done and then reinstalled McAfee but still the same problem arises. He is wishing that he never changed from Norton!! Any ideas is to what may be causing the problem with McAfee and how to fix it?? It doesn't make any logical sense at all.

I have no earthly idea what could be happening; it is probably one of Windows' famous bugs. Tell him to do himself a favor next time and get AVG.

the system specs of the laptop? Maybe the laptop isn't powerful enough for that antivirus program. Is too much Memory being used?
