Lost code for XP pro

hiya

ive recently bough a version of xp pro from a buisness that went bust.

we got the cd and the manual, but unfortunatly forgot about the code stuck on the side of the pc.

i have no idea where the pc is, sold to someone else i think, so how can i run my xp

can i, or have i just wasted a whole heap of money?

If you have the original CD then you can just ring up microsoft and they will give you a new CD key, (iv done this)

they will ask a few questions like what does it say on the CD

Giving you general advice, There is a prgram that will allow you to see the code you used to activate windows, you will have tio do a search for it on these forums.

I have never heard of Microsoft giving people new CD keys unless they have overactivated

If you still have it installed on one PC, we can find out the code, if not basicly your screwed
