there are trick they use now to force XP drivers on longhorn

right now longhorn only work on older mobo's
they will fix that by it's release

the thing about ATI saying that their R520 will be "longhorn compatible" is that the video hardware has been optimized for WGF(Windows Graphics Foundation) which will eventually replace DirectX. DirectX was found to be too inefficient in rendering the 3D interface of windows longhorn.
