Default locked computer

I have a computer that I bought from my friends work. The computer uses Windows XP. It is asking me for user name and password to login into the computer. Do I have to buy a new windows disk to overide this. What are my options here?

First off they are BOOTABLE CD's. So you do not have to get into Windows to use them.
