I just loaded Windows 2000 and now my modem is no where to be found. Not listed in hardware or anywhere else. I have tried the device manager. HELP

You might have to look and find the make of your modem and go on the net and find the driver's for it,Win 2000 dosen't have a big driver's list so certain thing's you have to load your self.

I've seen that before after installing 2000, it's not even detecting an unfamiliar piece of hardware. Tried to change PCI slots, installing specific drivers for said modem, but in the end a new $10.00 modem was the answer.

Microsoft must have designed it that way so someone would sell more modems-IT'S A CONSPIRACY

kidding aside, try another modem, they're cheap.

What'd you switch from? If it was from something before Windows 2000, it's because of NTFS instead of FAT. You'll have to get new drivers, etc..
