Hello,

I have amassed a load of older PC parts and put them together to make a PC for my mum, not terrible spec, pIII 700mhz, 512 sdram and 10 gig hdd - so for surfing the net, as she wants it - it will do the job perfectly.

My problem, I have a copy of XP to put on the machine for her and since its an older style mobo, it has no option to boot from CD. How on earth do i go about it?

I was going to stick the hdd in my machine and just boot/install from cd using my set up, but i dont particularly fancy the hassle if anything goes wrong with my setup.

Any quick fix solutions to such a problem?

many thanks

ok thanks, I shall try that.

Was ideally hoping for easier way then the 6 disc floppy option.

thank for help bud.

just to clarify when I boot the PC, I have to obviously ensure the machine is set to boot from floppy first, then insert the following floppys 2-6 in order when requested, whilst having the XP CD actually sitting in the cd drive right?

yeah thats the way it should be done :)

edit 1-6 not 2-6, well im sure that was just a typo
